Pushed through the weekend to finish up the remaining units. One month from start to finish and done a week early. Adding the following to the rest of the force.
Chaplain and a Scout Squad.
Venerable Dreadnought (terrible picture)
And a Drop Pod.
Was a fun project but I think I am going to take a break from painting Space Marines for a bit.
A couple more models for the Ultramarines. This time we have two Razorbacks/ Rhino. The top doors are switchable to allow one to use the models as either of the Space Marine dedicated transports.
These were kept simple so that could be used for any squad type. A coat of matte spray is all that is needed to finish them off.
On the home stretch! Finished off another couple of Ultramarine units for this project and I’m well on track to finish everything by the finish date of 11/2.
These took a little longer than I wanted mainly due to an issue with Vallejo Matte. Using the airbrush to cover the models with matte spray made things easy but it dried very inconsistent requiring me to go back in and touch up parts on most of the models…in the future I will stick with Testors Dullcote from a can.
Two razorbacks are underway which will be followed by a dreadnought, scout squad, a chaplain and finally a drop pod.
With 25 models close to finished, another 11 about half done, and the remaining models ready for paint, the Ultramarines are on the home stretch and should be finished up in a couple of weeks.
Most of the above need there shoulder iconography applied and all of them will be getting a matte spray coat as well as a little more added to there bases.
The local gaming store, Battleground, has been asking me to come in to the shop on tournament days to judge the painted armies. This has been great, both and inspiration for my own painting as well as being able to get out and meet local gamers. I’ve seen some great stuff and I am looking forward to the opportunity to judge in future events.
Stay tuned for more.
